Another update from Guy Parker, Sr - and a picture of a visit between Adam and friends Craig Falbaum and Jay Butcher.

Greetings to all:

Adam seems to have tolerated his first treatment last week without significant side effects to date. He continues to experience significant pain, especially in and under his rib cage on the right side, and it is difficult to manage. Thus his sleep patterns are irregular and he tires easily. Fever comes and goes, and I understand this is attributable to the tumors. he had a c-scan last Friday for the purpose of determining the best avenue of approach when they "drain" his lung(s) next Thursday the 30th. I am told that fluid, like fever, is caused by the tumors. In spite of all this he maintains an upbeat attitude generally, even while the drugs make him groggy, and even while he ponders life's mysteries and issues, and what it all means to and for him personally.

On Tuesday he will have a port installed. Normally this would be done to prevent invasion of the blood vessels repeatedly with the treatments, but I'm told in his case it is primarily to prevent "burning" internally as these very strong chemo-drugs are administered. I am guessing that it would also provide a ready tool in the event drugs for pain are required by IV at home. The next treatment is scheduled for April 10th and every 3 weeks thereafter for an undetermined period of time.

Although arrangements can be made have his children--Marshall and Kennan-- come and visit, he simply doesn't feel "up to it" at this time. Please pray that the pain will subside, the drugs for the pain get tweaked to maximum effectiveness, and he will soon be able to visit with his children . . .which may prove the best therapy of all right now.

Blessings,
