Happy New Year Y'all

Adam is still hanging tough, we have switched some meds around and are getting some more clarity out of him. He seems to be understanding things better, able to complete thoughts and sentences, and hopefully be able to talk to the kids tonight. Thanks again to all of you-J

Dear Adam,
I just wanted to let you know that old friends in Shreveport are praying hard for you. I know it has been probably 25 years since I have seen you or your family, but it still seems like only yesterday. I am truly sorry you all are having to go through this mess, but I also believe God is being glorified by how you, your family and your host of friends are baring up under this burden. On a brighter note, I recently moved in to my Grandmothers old house on North Dresden Circle. The move has brought a flood of memories with it. The bells at University still echo across the school yard, the greenbelt still offers a great "mini highway" for the neighborhood youth to travel from friends house to friends house (I got my first "french kiss" on top of one of the hedge surrounded drains near Elizabeth Handcock's house--not saying it was her!!!), the swim and tennis club is still going strong with a new generation of kids on the swim team, your old house is still occupied by the same family that moved in after you guys moved out. The Falbaum's house is now occupied by a family with young children "who claim there is a ghost living in their room who plays the drums at all hours" the funny thing is that the kids that live in Rusty Perkins old house claim that when the "Falbaum" ghost is banging away on the drums their "Perkins" ghost is constantly singing old "I-20" cover songs, claiming he's headlining at the old Jackson Square Swim and Tennis Club for some righteous Youree Drive Junior High Spartan's party. Memories, Memories, Memories.
My mother sends her love and prayers and has nothing but nice things to say about what "a fine young man you were." She also says to tell your parents hi. I saw several photos of your brother Jim on the blog as well, be sure and tell him I said hi! I know I have rambled on, but forgive me, this has really touched me as I have nothing but good memories of you and Jim and know how much my sister Barri loves and cherishes those memories as well. May God continue to hold you in the palm of his hand. Much love from another life you have had and continue to have a positive impact on from your storied time in Shreveport Louisiana. Sincerely, Keith Dillard (a.k.a. 1980's I-20 Band groupie--You guys rocked!!!)

Adam,
I am so glad to hear that changing some meds is making you feel better! I know it was frustrating before. We hope to get over for a quick visit in the next few days. Until then, God be with you and your precious family. We love you! Brad and Kevin

Some notes from the boys:

Mr. Adam, I hope you get better. We're praying for you. I really love you and I wish for you to really be strong. Love, Ben

To Mr. Adam from Drew:
I hope you get better. I miss you really, really, really bad. I'm really looking out for Kennan at school.

Adam and family,

Just wanted you all to know that the prayer chain is longer and wider and stronger than you probably realize. There are many of us (your OLD, OLD pre-college friends) from Shreveport praying for you and sending good thoughts your way. God is using you all to touch so many lives. Your courage and your unwavering faith are such an inspiration. And your incredible support group is a living testimony of love and friendship. You have always done friends well, Adam, even when you were 14.

All our love and prayers,
Barri Dillard Chandler and family
