Don't Quit

Dear Adam,

I ran across this poem today and immediately thought of the incredible strength and grace with which you are handling these excruciating times. In you we see the reflection of our Father. And indeed, one has only to meet your precious children to know what kind of man their father is and why you will not quit fighting. We pray, pleading before the throne for your healing and freedom from pain.

We love you and while we miss you here, you are never far away in our hearts.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you can never tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to this fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

First, Thank you to the Whitehead Family for such an amazing poem.I know Adam will be inspired by it as any one else who reads it.I have not seen them since they left Southminster Day School but I remember now why I loved them so much.....They are special people and I miss them. My love to them!
Second, I adore the picture of Adam and Kennon. What a beautiful moment of father and daughter! Speaking as a "Daddy's Girl" myself, that sweet child has such a gift in you as you in her. I feel privileged to look at that moment in time.
And to my buddy Adam, I hope that this note finds you comfortable and glowing in God's Grace.I think of you daily and I send positive thoughts to you and your beloved family anytime that you cross my mind. Godspeed to you friend, Lori Jack

Happy Holiday's Adam!
Thank you for my phone call the other night. It was great hearing from you! I hope that your CAT scan, nerve block and chemo treatment went as well as can be expected and leaving you more comfortable. The weather here in Birmingham has been so beautiful and I'm hoping in Jackson as well.I like to think that you were able to get out for one of your walks to soak it all in! On that note, I believe I'll go walk "the boys" and enjoy the fresh air myself. I'll send you a note soon, okay.Godspeed Adam!
Your buddy, Lori Jack
